Regardless of the city being a Cosmopolitan, housing rents are cheaper compared to the other cities without any compromises on the quality of accommodation. Students have the option to pick between On-Campus Housing and Private Off-Campus Accommodation. Following are the major differences between the two:

On-Campus Housing Off-Campus Accommodation
Comparatively, the rent is high. The rent is cheaper than on-campus housing and the payment works on a lease-basis.
It will save you the money and time of daily commute If you live in a neighbourhood far from the campus, you will have to allocate time to commute to and fro every day.
Options of food are limited within the campus. You can cook homemade food or choose between multiple dine out / order options.
Your opportunities for a job will be limited to your universities’ research assistants or junior tutoring roles. You will have the freedom to work a part-time job any time and any day of the week. Your opportunities will also be endless.
Your commitment to the room will be fixed for the entire semester/course duration. You have the flexibility to change your accommodation every semester or even in between semesters.
You won’t have to keep track of utility bills and other bills as it will all be taken care of in the accommodation fee. Living outside the campus will make you independent and teach you to keep track of your living expenses.
Your room will be furnished with essentials like a bed and desk. Not all rooms and apartments will be furnished.
